It snowed about 6 inches today.
I also haven't found a Christmas present for my Mom or my sister yet.

I baked a fruitcake on Tuesday, put it in a bundt pan. It actually came out good this time.
Put more lights up on the tree.
It's really been cold outside.

A few months ago Peter Tork (former Monkee) deleted his Twitter account.
On Monday Papa Nez, (Mike Nesmith for my non-Monkee fan friends) left a tweet that he's bailing out of Twitter as well. No explanation really, just a 'it's been fun, next' type of thing. He always seems to be experimenting with new technology (check out his VR3D) and yet he's leaving Twitter. At least he left a note. I don't think Peter did so.
Finding out Mike was on Twitter was the reason I got an account in the first place!
I still follow Conan O'Brien, "Weird Al" Yankovic and few others, though.

Anyway, my tree is up and it has a few ornaments on it. I also mailed out a few more Christmas cards.
Next up...baking!

Bad day Sunday.
Tried to go to 8 am mass, but the roads were too icy.
Went to the 11 am mass by myself. The roads were better.
Gonna put up the tree on Monday, and maybe do some baking too.

My Mom sent out her Christmas cards already.
I'm just starting mine. Will send out five on Friday.
Pittsburgh lost to Cleveland.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry right now.

Roman Polanski has been granted bail! He's now at his chateux (?) with an ankle bracelet on.

It's about 36 degrees out.
It might snow a bit tomorrow.
Yet people are literally camping out in front of the stores to get the sales.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.

Oh yeah, The Who is going to be the half-time entertainment for the next Super Bowl.

So...
For "Black Friday" Kohl's department store is opening up at 4 am.
Not to be outdone, Old Navy is opening up at 3 am.

Actually, I like hearing stuff like this because it confirms that there are people dumber than I am that will get up that early to shop.

Took my Dad to the eye doctor today for a checkup. He's doing fine, eye pressure is normal.
At my house I put up the outdoor Xmas lights as well. Might as well since the weather has been pretty mild so far.
I'm glad the health care bill passed the US house, and I'm doubly glad the Stupak amendment passed as well.  I don't want my tax money helping pay for abortions. I don't trust what the politicians say that it won't do that.  My tax money is still being used to help fund planned parenthood though, and I don't like that at all.

Verizon guy put in a new jack and now the phone in my parents' bedroom works! He did say our answering machine might be causing some of our problems, though. Hmm...our answering machine is less than a year old. I'll have to test it somehow and see if it's interferring with the phone.

Got a new cordless phone for my parents' bedroom...and it doesn't work.
Turns out it there's something wrong with the extention line (or jack) leading to their room.  I tried the phone I have near my phone in that jack and that phone doesnt' work either.
I guess I should've done that in the first place before buying the cordless, but I'll feel better knowing my Dad can answer the phone without having to get out of his recliner. I can still program the phone with important numbers.
Anyway, the Verizon guy is coming over on Thurs. I hope maybe he can fix it from outside, otherwise it's gonna be 91 dollars a half hour for him to fix. YIKES!!

I'm taking my Dad to the doctor's tomorrow for a checkup.  It's been about a month since he got out of the hospital.  I'm gonna ask the doc to give my Dad a prescription for a three month supply of his new drugs.  I tried to get new refills on the drugs at the local pharmacy, but was told it was 'too soon' to get them otherwise the insurance won't pay for them. GRR. That's why I like when the meds come in the mail, it tells you on the label when to get a refill

Anybody vote in your local elections last Tues? It was a real snooze in my community. I think I was number 110 and I went to vote in the afternoon!

Gotta get a new phone for my parents' bedroom. It stopped working, not even a dial-tone. My parents can't always hear the one in the kitchen. I might get them a cordless, but I'm not sure if any conversations can be picked up like what happened to my Aunt a few years ago.  A neighbor lady asked her if she had a sister named (my Mom's name) and my Aunt said yes, how did you know? The neighbor said she heard it over her scanner!

I have over 400 songs on my Ipod...and I'm bored with them all.
Even the Beatle songs.
I still love all those songs...I guess I'm just tired of playing them.

Went to a different mall today.
They didn't have Christmas decorations up, though I could see they were starting to fix up an area when Santa comes to visit.
Getting the carpets cleaned tomorrow. Boy, do they need it.

I went to a local mall today.
Guess what?
THE MALL HAS CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS HANGING UP!
It's not even Halloween yet!
Went to a local Rite-Aid later on.
Guess what?
They're selling Christmas ornaments next to the Halloween and Thanksgiving items!
Happy Hallo-thanks-mas everyone!

My Dad is home from the hospital! Yeah! He's gonna get home therapy for a month or so, and blood tests three times a month. At least he's back home where he belongs.

My Dad is still in the hosptial. For his wedding anniversary. The doc said 'maybe' Monday he can go home.

Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. Why? He hasn't pulled our troops from Iraq or Afghanistan yet.

Gonna pull my garden tomorrow. I might as well just give up on any more produce.

My Dad is still in the hospital getting physical therapy. No word yet on when he'll get sprung.

Was watching the biography of Jimi Hendrix on the Biograpy channel and they didn't mention that he had opened up for the Monkees. They just went from the Monterey Pop Festival and then to 1968 when MLK was killed.
